Senior Network & Security Architect

Role Details

WhiteSpider is looking to grow our Architecture team and require a Senior Network and Security Architect.  We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled team player that has at least ten years in a client facing engineer role and at least five years of engineering experience in the network design environment.  This role will be client-facing role and requires the candidate to demonstrate a sound knowledge and understanding of networking and security technologies, focusing predominantly on, but not limited to, the Cisco product line. The main activity of this role will be to create architecture artefacts, such as standards documents, use-cases, patterns, reference architectures and blueprints, therefore excellent technical authoring skills are absolutely necessary.

Particular work performed under this requirement includes, but is not limited to, the following:-

  • Develop technical and conceptual diagrams to a very high standard.
  • Perform research and development on Network and Security solutions, and provide technical updates to architecture team and a wider customer audience.

Experience and Qualifications

Required Skills:-

  • Extensive knowledge of architecture methods including TOGAF principles.
  • Excellent enterprise design skills, understanding best practice and industry trends such as Gartner
  • Excellent technical documentation skills.
  • Design experience of integrating multivendor Data Centre network solutions in multiple geographic locations throughout the world.
  • Expert level knowledge of global standards and capable of producing solution designs that ensure global standards are delivered.

Required Experience, Abilities and Competencies:-

  • Must have an absolute minimum of 10 years of engineering, design and architecture experience.
  • Must be able to write, to a very high standard, detailed and concise architectural design documents.
  • Ability to take ownership of, and focus on, critical initiatives.

Advantageous Knowledge and Skills,

  • Any SDN experience is a bonus
  • Experience with APIs, python scripting and PowerShell.
  • Good understanding of enterprise security principles including considerations around PCI/SOX.

Role Details

WhiteSpider is looking to grow our Engineering team and require a Senior Network Engineer who has experience designing (HLD & LLD) and delivering network infrastructures (LAN/WAN/Routing & Switching/Firewalls).  We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled team player that has at least ten years in a client facing engineer role and at least five years of engineering experience in the network environment.

Applicants require at least 3 years of specific architecture experience in designing solutions based on Cisco Nexus switches, Cisco IOS routers and Cisco ASA firewalls. The role also requires the candidate to demonstrate a sound knowledge and understanding of virtualised Data Centre network technologies.

The role will be primarily providing technical consulting to a wide range of enterprise level customers and will involve:

  • Designing routing & switching networks solutions, High Level Designs and Low Level Designs (HLD/LLD)
  • Implementing and subsequently testing of solutions
  • Maintaininng a thorough understanding of a range of protocols: DNS, Security, IP Routing, HTTP, VPN, DMVPN, HSRP, BGP, EIGRP
  • Configuring and setup of Cisco ASA Firewalls, Cisco ASR, and Security appliances for access to vital business applications
  • Recommend end-to-end IT security solutions, including architecture/design, process creation and development and basic project management, all in line with industry good practice’
  • Work individually and as part of a team to carry out end-to-end delivery of services and solutions
  • Produce and present clear and consistent technical documentation
  • Confidently scope complex and critical projects as well as (high level and detailed) deliverables.
